Welcome ladies and gentlemen to my realm of contemplative analysis and well spent reading time going through a few of the best books ever written!

1. Animal Farm by George Orwell
2. 1984 by George Orwell
3. Lord of the Flies by William Golding

As such I will begin with a synopsis of Animal Farm as I have just finished it!

Synopsis for Animal Farm:

In "Manor Farm" deep in the heart of the English countryside the animals have just received a message from their most respected pig, the old Major, he says animals will rise to govern themselves one day and gives them the principles of "Animalism" the type of government by which their farm must run, his living successors Snowball and Napoleon must carry out the major leadership portions to help lead the animals to a glorious age of luxury, but what happens when you defeat the devil you know?

Well something does obviously happen as the farmer wants his farm back, his neighbours want it also, the animals want a good life and Snowball and Napoleon face off at opposite ends about.. everything. Napoleon wants more than to co-lead this animal nation and decides Snowball needs to leave, for good, and then its just Napoleon, and what can one pig do to control a farm?

In the end things go from bad to worse, sabitage, mass murders on the border of genocide (The Purges) and wars with nearby farms, in the end the animals are faced with a revelation, they watched pigs stand on two legs and wield whips upon other animals and in that they thought was fine, why? because:

All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others.

This led to the formation of peace between the renamed "Animal Farm" and the other farms when it was announced that the "Animal Farm" would be renamed to its origional and proper name "Manor Farm", returning the farm almost to its origional state and the animals came to a conclusion:

"We could look at humans and pigs together and they seemed different at least in look but as we looked from pig to human and from human to pig it seemed as if they were the same"

As a story of political allegory it is brilliant, it turns a dark and bitter reality into an almost childish fable while still retaining the information in reality.

Synopsis for 1984:
The party for English Socialism took power in the late 20's and since then hasn't released any, it is a state in which children are taught to turn in their parents and denounce them, where families are so weakly bonded to each other they cannot resist the state for each and every rebel is utterly alone before they are made to love big brother. This tale follows Winston on his job in the truth department where it is his duty to remove the holes in the logic and history of Oceania, the state of English Socialism which stretches across oceans to unite the people. He realises over time that the reason for his editing of news articles and removal of "Unpersons good refs" to make the history of Oceania rock solid as to now allow people to realise the truth, that being the great irony of the truth department is that their jobs require them to lie.

1984 Creative Story
“ Ser, all the students have been summoned to the Amphitheatre to announce the location of the winter training camp.” The forlorn figure announced before walking out the door, still retaining the grace and dignity despite his appearance, he was Gerard, the dorm manager for block C-13, and this meant that the somewhat laid-back time Julian had been having was at an end, he donned his jacket and prepared to leave, as he prepared he thought, would this be the time? Would he finally become a member of the dreaded thought police? For Julian becoming a member of the dread squad simply a very important step towards his goal and his goal was his very reason for existence , if only he could be part of the very mysterious and ghost-like group then he could understand truly how IngSoc worked, and with that he could begin his one true goal, to help destroy it.

Julian trudged through the dorms and out onto the cold, empty streets of South London, the traffic was non-existent in this portion of the city simply for the extreme difficulty it takes to get clearance to drive around in the area because of all the IngSoc ministries and facilities there, taking a right at the Ministry of Truth’s building (Which also housed the ministry of Fiction which Julian found ironic) Julian found himself in a small street, the sidewalk of which was populated by only one person. Julian looked him over he was around six feet tall, with dark brown hair and deep blue eyes… Suddenly they flashed in the dim light with an introspective but suspicious light, they seemed to dig into Julian’s very mind just as Julian knew his own Amber coloured eyes were doing the same, the wind tossing their hair, this strangers which was as brown as the soft earth that Julian only recognized in his memories, and he tell his own hair as white as whispy lengths of cloud blowing around his eyesight. Their eyes were ablaze now asking the same question, the very question they had asked all their lives, the very question they had hoped someone would answer, the very question no one ever did.

Are you different? Or are you the same? Are you like me or are you as mindless a puppet as all others? WHAT ARE YOU? DO YOU LIVE OR ARE YOU LED BY THE HAND?

Their eyes flashed, blue on amber, amber on blue, their eyes searching deep into the others soul, not even their soul but their very minds because the truth is something so much harder to comprehend in the soul than the mind. Julian had stopped now, the wind was dying down, the boys glance dulled and then turned away.

Then it was over and the boy walked towards Julian, his very existence ethereal and graceful, as if the ground did not touch his feet or could not bear his presence. Julian began walking too and the two crossed paths in the middle of the block, just as they passed the boy whispered something so quietly that only Julian could have ever noticed.

“We are two of the same, maybe we are not destined for the marionettes everyone else is obsessed with” The boy whispered just before they passed.

“Then as the two I proclaim for us both, let us cut these strings that hold us, let us fall from the sky or float in the clouds” Julian replied just as quietly. That was it, they walked in different directions toward different places and there was no knowing if they were ever going to meet again, although Julian believed they would, they had to and he was sure the other boy felt the same way.

4 Days Later- At the Victory Cliffside Training Academy

Julian left the dorm room, the moon was still high in the night sky so there was plenty of time to relax, as he looked out over the academy, he struggled to believe there were millions of cameras surveying every inch of it, even his body was being scanned consistently to make sure he wasn’t carrying a gun, or any regretful thoughts too. But Julian’s mind was much to sealed for any such primitive scan as Oceania could manage, he had mastered his feelings, his mind and his soul a long time ago.

Suddenly a massive explosion rocked the academy, an entire building had disappeared in a sheath of flame so large that the entire academy was lit up for a split second, pandemonium was immediate and intense screaming, running and crying began after a couple moments and after that the emergency services arrived. But the most intense feeling of all was how happy Julian felt that something exciting actually happened, this would mean there would be a witch-hunt for the saboteurs. Suddenly another voice spoke inside the outside of his mind.

“Fireworks to celebrate, brother, for this means victory for us!”

Julian turned around to greet the same mysterious person he had seen on the street.

“Well then ‘brother’ what do you think you’re doing, the surveillance-“

“All taken care of.” The Brother replied. “That building was the monitoring station, I was lucky to find my friends to helpful as to give us this time together, at the expense of their lives.

“Well then, it seems privacy is ours, what next?” Julian asked, he could sense the same feeling he had felt those days ago, unity, a feeling of unity and harmony, even though he had only just met the stranger it felt as if they had known each other forever.

“Our goal brother, what does a bird do when put in a cage?” Brother asked.

“It tries to escape of course.” Julian responded.

“Exactly, so that is what we shall do!” Brother proclaimed.

“Where do you have in mind then?” Julian asked, his interest piqued, but his loyalty was immediate and absolute, for some reason this person had penetrated every defensive layed Julian had ever laid.

“We are by the sea, and there is a very small distance between us and Eurasia, where we can finally be cut from our strings, and then we can find a way to end this, end it all. I have seen you and you have seen me, I know we want the one and same thing, we want an end to this world as we know it. We want a different time, a different place.”

“A different world, bird wants a tree not a cage.” Julian whispered.

“Yes… Come with me brother, we have work to do.” With that the Brother walked away and Julian followed him into the night, promising himself that no matter what we would follow this person so like himself to the ends of the earth, that they could really do it, they could answer this question they had always asked.
